Are you there God? It's me, Adam.

I have rewritten this sentence one hundred times. The first sentence to my first blog post on a site that is for a bookstore that is also mine has to be really poignant and meaningful, right? I tried to come up a solid attention grabber like “four score and seven years ago” or “lend me your ears” but the best I could come up with was more like “I’m Adam Morris and welcome to Jackass”.
I’m truly excited about bringing a bookstore to Evansville. This has been a lifelong dream of mine and the best part, for me, is that I get to build it with my little brother. Sam and I have shared a lot of things in life together, but this is by far the coolest and most exciting. Then, on top of that, the fact that we get to build our dream store in our hometown makes it even better. Our hope in doing something for the community was something that really has been pushing along. Everyone I have spoken to is so supportive and inspiring that my only regret is not doing this sooner.
Our doors open in about ten weeks, so we’re knee deep in planning and building. So with that in mind, my question to you, the community, is what can we do for you? If you were opening your own bookstore, what would you make sure to have or do? Over the next couple weeks, we’re going to be announcing some of the programs and events we have planned. But since we answer to the community more and not to the corporate office, your input is really important to us. How can we best serve the community?
